Cold Laser Therapy

We are excited to announce that as of January 2020 we can now provide the Celluma Pro, a Low Level Light Therapy by  BioPhotas. This is a flexible low level light panel that can treat acne, anti-aging/wrinkles and pain/inflammation. It was originally researched and developed by NASA for returning astronauts with muscle weakness and impaired ability to repair and regenerate.

The low level light therapy is the application of light energy to the body to obtain therapeutic benefits. It produces a natural photobiochemical reaction similar to the process of plant photosynthesis, and has with a wide range of beneficial applications.

Cold Laser Therapy, also known as Low Level Laser Therapy, is a treatment that utilizes specific wavelengths of light to interact with tissue and is known to accelerate the healing process of a variety of clinical conditions. Discrete, deeply penetrating wavelengths of light energy are absorbed by photoaccepts in the mitochondria of compromised cells to regain and restore vitality naturally. This process increases the production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) - the fuel that drives all cells. The resulting boost in cellular energy leads to a cascade of metabolic events which can increase micro-circulation and decrease arthritic and joint pain, muscle spasm, and muscle and joint stiffness.

Think of the mitochondria as the battery to your car. If the engine works, there is air in the tire, and you have a full tank of gas, the car will still not start if the battery is dead.

In our first month using LLLT, we've had many success stories. A patient with a 20 year history of asthma had used inhalers (Advair and albuterol) was able to eliminate the inhalers after 10 treatments. Another patient with a history of chronic fibromyalgia (CF) and EBV (Epstein Barr Virus) has been able to return to workouts 3x a week without severe relapse following exercise. In EBV and CF, the mitochondria are so depleted that the person is not able to recover from regular activity and especially exercise.

Cold Laser Therapy is widely used for treatment of by the FDA for:

  • Acute and chronic pain
  • Ligament sprains
  • Muscle strain
  • Soft tissue injuries
  • Tendonitis
  • Arthritis
  • Tennis elbow
  • Back pain
  • Bursitis
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Wound healing
  • Acne
  • Wrinkles

Low level light therapy is one option among a variety of treatment approaches that can potentially alleviate pain symptoms without the use of surgery or drugs.
